Our Collaboration with Aretaieio Hospital

The founding of Aretaieio Hospital in 1898 marked a major milestone in advancing university-level medical education in Greece. Thousands of medical students — many of whom later served in Greece or achieved international distinction — began their medical journeys at Aretaieio Hospital. Today, more than a century later, the hospital remains a leader in both medical care and academic education.

Aretaieio Hospital houses:

• The 2nd Surgical Clinic of the University of Athens
• The 2nd Obstetrics and Gynecology Clinic of the University of Athens
• The 1st Radiology Laboratory of the University of Athens
• The 1st Anesthesiology Clinic
• The Nephrology Clinic
• The Neonatology Clinic
• Along with modern laboratories: Pathology, Cytology, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Hormone Studies, and the Blood Donation–Hematology Unit.
